9. 2. 2010: Forum Science is Alive! in Brno

On the morning of 9 February 2010 Forum Science Is Alive! delivered an open letter to P. Fiala, President of the Czech Rectors’ Conference, to the registry of the Rectorate of Masaryk University (MU) in Brno. In the letter the Forum requests an explanation why, in the name of the Czech Rectors’ Conference, President Fiala refused the Prime Minister’s proposal of a transparent procedure for the appointment of the new Council for Research, Development and Innovations. In the morning members of the Forum distributed the text of the open letter in front of individual faculties of the MU. The spokesperson of the MU stated that Rector Fiala was currently unavailable and upon his return he would respond to the open letter, adding that the Rector has always been ready for a dialogue. Forum Science Is Alive! welcomes this statement and looks forward to the response as well as a personal meeting with Rector Fiala.
