18 October 2010 – Civic Association Forum Science Is Alive! is organising a unique open-air photo exhibition

Last year scientists took to the streets for the first time to defend excellent Czech science. Now, women and men scientists are coming back to the public space to present their faces and personal messages. The exhibit opened on Thursday, 21 October 2010 at 16:00 on Na Příkopech Street (between Můstek and Black Rose Passageway). The exhibit lasts until 3 November 2010. Updated 18 October 2010 – Conclusions of public debate “Research and Innovations. Allies or Rivals?”

On 6 October 2010 the Forum Science Is Alive! organised a panel discussion “Research and Innovations: Allies or Rivals?” with panellists representing the innovation industry, academic research, specialists in the Czech entrepreneurial environment and foreign experts dealing with research, development and innovations assessment. 11 October 2010 – FORUM SCIENCE IS ALIVE! CALLS ON PRIME MINISTER NEČAS TO ATTEND TO THE ISSUE OF SCIENCE POLICY

In an open letter the civic association Forum Science Is Alive! asks Prime Minister Nečas about his attitude to the pressing issues of Czech science policy and its strategy. “Prime Minister Nečas’s cabinet has declared support for research and development to be one of its priorities. Despite this, the cabinet has not addressed these issues yet,” says Martin Krummholz, chairman of the civic association Forum Is Alive!

6 October 2010 – The Civic Association Forum Science Is Alive! organised a panel discussion with representatives of innovation industry, academic research, specialists in the Czech entrepreneurial environment and foreign experts in research, development and innovations assessment. “I believe that research quality must be assessed according to globally recognised criteria, and it should not be otherwise in the case of innovations supported with public funds.

18.10.2010 – Občanské sdružení Fórum Věda žije! pořádá netradiční výstavu fotografií pod širým nebem

V uplynulém roce se právě ulice stala pro vědce prostorem, jehož poprvé v historii využili k obraně kvalitní české vědy. Nyní se vědci a vědkyně do veřejného prostoru vracejí. Bude možné se seznámit s jejich tvářemi i osobním poselstvím. Vernisáž se uskutečnila ve čtvrtek 21. října 2010 v 16 hod v ulici Na Příkopech (mezi Můstkem a pasáží Černá Růže).
